This drawing is from a story I first told to my daughter at bedtime. It was a series really. I titled it THE TERRIBLE TRUTH ABOUT GROWN-UPS. It describes the things parents really are up to. For instance throwing parties as soon as the children are off at school. I am looking for a publisher. It's a fairly subversive book, but my daughter loved it.

  2. I have been influenced by several European and ex-European artists, and American artists working in that tradition. Feodor Rojankovsky, Ilonka Karasz, Max Beckman, Ben Shahn, Ludwig Bemelmans, Abe Birnbaum Maurice Sendak, Maira Kalman. It's often a gesture or a pose, setting a foot at an odd angle.

  3. Perhaps you should approach Viking Juvenile, who publishes Kalman. I could also see Chronicle publishing something like this.
